🎉 My student Angela shared the good news — she’s been offered a place for Economics at LSE!

在昨日的 A-level 放榜日，就讀香港哈羅國際學校的Angela 取得了令人驕傲的成績，獲得倫敦政治經濟學院取錄通知，入讀全球排名前十的經濟科。
On yesterday’s A-level Results Day, Angela, who studied at Hong Kong Harrow International School, achieved outstanding grades and received an offer from the London School of Economics, one of the top ten globally ranked universities for economics.

我依然記得在一次 English speaking session 上，她在同學面前笑著說：「Polly 不單是我的 tutor，我們更像是朋友。」那一刻，真的感到很窩心。
I still remember during one of our English speaking sessions, she smiled and told her classmates, “Polly is not just my tutor. We’re more like friends.” That moment truly warmed my heart.

一年前，我和 Angela 在倫敦見面，我們去吃飯、飲bubble tea、坐 London Eye、遊覽倫敦，還一起去看限定版 Jellycat，哈哈。
A year ago, Angela and I met up in London. We had a meal, tried some bubble tea, rode the London Eye, explored the city, and even went to check out some limited-edition Jellycats, haha.

我和她課堂以外也像朋友般聊天，會互相督促、共同進步。她會推介與經濟有關的書給我，我會向她介紹啟發我思考的劇集和電影；我們也會分享旅行和生活點滴。
Outside of lessons, we chat like friends, encouraging each other to grow. She recommends economics-related books for me, and I suggest thought-provoking films and series for her; we also share travel stories and bits of our lives.

我和 Angela 上英文課已有一年半了，見她英文愈來愈進步。我知道 LSE Economics 是她的 dream programme，也知道她為了這次公開試付出多大的努力。
Angela and I have been working together on English for a year and a half, and I’ve seen her skills improve steadily. I know LSE Economics is her dream programme, and I also know how much she has worked for these public exams.

Angela 是個很懂事的學生，年紀輕輕便十分成熟。她曾跟我說，因為自己資源較豐富，所以更要不負眾望，考取好成績。
Angela is a very thoughtful and mature student for her age. She once told me that because she has more resources, she feels to work harder to live up to expectations and achieve strong results.

有時她也會跟我說到讀書的壓力，那時我很擔心。但當她出成績後，跟我報喜，我便知道一切都值得了。
Sometimes she confided in me about the stress of studying, and I worried for her. But when she shared her results with me yesterday, I knew it was all worth it.

作為導師，最大的滿足未必是學生準時交功課，而是見到他們成長為有自信、懂思考、懂珍惜機會的人。
As a tutor, my greatest fulfilment is not just in seeing students hand in their homework, but in watching them grow into confident, thoughtful individuals who value every opportunity.

我會繼續堅守教育的使命，在學術與人生路上陪伴學生讓他們找到最適合自己的方向，我很樂意陪伴並引導他們，一步步走向目標。
I’ll stay true to my educational aspirations, helping my students to find the right path, both academically and in life. I’d be honoured to guide and walk alongside them on their journey towards their goals.
